A Cheap iMac Knockoff You Wouldn’t Mind Smashing to Bits

Untitled

What would you pay for a iMac knockoff without a quad core processor, Thunderbolt ports, wireless keyboard and a Magic Mouse? How about one that’s rocking a dual-core, 1.8GHz Intel Atom D525 processor, NVIDIA ION graphics, and an 500GB hard drive? Some Chinese manufacturer is hoping your answer is somewhere around $300, because that’s roughly what its new, 2,000 yuan ($318) iMac knockoff will cost along with 18.4-inch LED-backlit widescreen TFT display (1920 X 1080), 4GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, six USB 2.0 ports, and an aluminum enclosure. More photos after the break.

Alright, this iMac knockoff is not as powerful as the real deal, but it looks pretty nice. It copies Apple’s iMac design, and according to the Chinese manufacturer, the machine is designed with highly recyclable aluminum and glass enclosures which meet ENERGY STAR 5.2 requirements, just like Apple’s iMac… And it weighs the same as the original 21.5-inch iMac, that’s 9.3kg. For its cons, it is thicker than the real deal, less powerful, and has shortcomings such as a bundle of a wired keyboard and mouse while Apple is offering a wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse.

And no Optical and its thicker and there is no Alu strip under the screen like a real iMac but what did you expect for the money? Gold plating? :-)
