Chinese Farmer Builds DIY ‘Wind-Powered’ Electric Car (Video)

A 55 years old Chinese farmer in Beijing has spent 10,000 yuan (US$1,585) to build his own high-speed wind-powered electric car. It took him three months time to design and manufacture, and the speed of the DIY automobile can reach up to 140km/h (87 Miles per hour), pretty fast and amazing ! After the demo video has been uploaded online, it has been viewed for 770k times with more than 2,600 comments, praising the old man for his creative work. The old man is planning to modify the electric car with solar panel, in order to combine wind and sunlight as the main power source to raise the speed up to 200km/h. We are wondering why Chinese farmer can be so geeky and talented …

Update: There is some misleading on the title of the original story, the electric car can be traveled a total distance of 140km per charged, not top speed …

    it was already discussed on Chinasmack that someone was confused and 140km is not maximum speed but range of this “car” and also for effectivity of turbine it’s wasting more energy by air resistance than is producing
