Yesterday, Xiaomi held “Mi-Fan festival” to celebrate the second anniversary with all the Mi-Fans. The event endured for six hours and offered various Xiaomi’s accessories with discount to thanks its customers. During the event, Lei Jun announced China Unicom sold over million units of Xiaomi phone in the past few months. Besides, Li Wan Qiang, another founder of Xiaomi Tech, has disclosed the second-gen Xiaomi phone is in the work and the company is targeting to sell around four million units this year.

Reportedly, the next-gen Xiaomi phone will be a high-end quad-core phone, pack a 4-inch display, a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 2.5GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 5.0 megapixel front-facing camera and a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera, running Android 4.0 ICS. Rumor saying the phone will be as cheap as 2,499 yuan ($403). But we don’t think it’s gonna be that cheap if it offers such high-end configuration.
Apart from the next-gen Xiaomi phone, previous rumor stated the company is also planning to launch Windows Phone-based Xiaomi phone and a low-cost Xiaomi phone. But the low-cost Xiaomi phone’s claim has already been rejected by Lei Jun (Xiaomi’s CEO). We may see two new Xiaomi phones surface this year.
