Ohhh baby, Apple CEO Tim Cook was spotted at an Apple Store in Beijing today, and Chinese Apple fans were so excited to take pictures with Cook. But Cook actually has some missions for his trip to China…
UPDATE: According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple spokeswoman Carolyn Wu said Tim Cook had great meetings with Chinese officials.
According to China Daily, Tim Cook may have held meeting with China Telecom and China Unicom, the two local carriers which are selling the iPhone 4S to Chinese mobile users.
Actually, Cook has been to China many times in the past as Chief Operating Officer and was last seen at China Mobile headquarters in June last year to discuss the 4G LTE iPhone. We think that Cook may also be likely to visit China Mobile for his current trip to China, since China Mobile previously announced that Wang Jianzhou will retire from the position of chairman of China Mobile and be replaced by Xi Guohua, effective immediately. This is important to Apple, since Wang was the one who decided to request a piece of the App Store revenue pie in exchange for Apple’s iPhone coming to its service. And now, Wang is no longer the CEO of China Mobile, and Tim Cook will take this opportunity to negotiate a new deal with China Mobile.
