China businessmen are always clever to turn a profit from death. A small home appliance company from Chaozhou, a city in eastern Guangdong province of China, has released a limited edition of “iFeng 4S” hair dryer, with the name of Steve Jobs printed on it. The name “iFeng 4S” is similar to Apple’s iPhone 4s, the pronunciation of the word ‘Feng’ literally means wind in Chinese. The company said that the white color special edition of the hair dryer is to pay a tribute to the greatest man, and only 100 units will go for sales …
Some merchants are selling this ‘iFeng 4S’ hair dryer at taobao.com, the most popular online shopping site similar to eBay and Amazon. The 900 watts hair dryer only cost 99 yuan (US$15.7) online. It doesn’t comes with any special features, but the company is trying to sell it like Apple products. They have some tech description such as the outer plastic material are imported from Taiwan which is more heat-resistant, and the new design of air suction can be freely adjustable. Overall it is just a simple un-foldable hair dryer, nothing special like Apple i-products. The price of the hair dryer is not expensive, but because of capitalizing on Jobs’ death, the merchants are able to mark up the price.
After the pictures of the hair dryer exposed on weibo, the nation most micro-blogging service, a lot of netizens comment on the ‘iFeng 4S’ hair dryer. Some wanna buy it and check out how it works, but some Chinese dislike the idea, said Steve Jobs is bald and he doesn’t need any hair dryer. Another netizen comments that Steve Jobs is not Blow Jobs. We believe Apple and Steve Jobs’ family will look for this Chinese company to file some lawsuits.
