Acer Unveils Quad-core Tablet with 1080p Display

Taiwan manufacturers Acer has introduced their new quad-core tablet in CES. The new Iconia Tab A700 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and a full gig of RAM for pushing a customized version of Ice Cream Sandwich to its 10.1-inch ‘IPS quality’ panel. The screen has a 1920 x 1200 resolution, body thickness measured at 9.8mm, weighted 650 grams, usage time can last about 10 hours. It also provides an HDMI-port, microSD slot and micro USB port. The new tablet is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2012, price unknown yet. More pics after the break. We feel that the powerful quad-core processor will properly a challenge to the battery life and we have to see whether there are enough Android apps support the full HD resolution.

The Iconia Tab A700 is a 10 inch size tablet.

The back has a nice finishing and comes with built-in camera.

Its 9.8mm thickness isn’t competitive with the slimmest tablets, but it generally looks good.

It runs Android OS 4.0 with customized UI, the lockscreen launcher “ring”.

The high resolution screen provides a new ebook viewing experience.
