Kunming Fake Apple Store Changed its name for Second Time (Video)

This may be quite an old news, somehow we miss it but it is still interesting to share it with our reader before the new year. During August, we had reported that the legendary fake Apple store in China Kunming has changed its store name. The shop has been renamed ‘Smart Store’ and the big glowing white Apple logo was still there. After a short period of time, the fake Apple store changed the name of the store for the second time. Now the store has no name for it, just hanging out some official iPad 2 and iPhone 4 poster banner. The Apple trademark logo has gone too …

According to the local TV news report, the Kunming Trade Industry Bureau is still conducting investigations on unauthorized retail shops without license. The Kunming fake Apple store changed the name of its store for the second time, to avoid the authorities’ investigations. The shop owner told the press, they can changed the name of the store whatever they want, because they own the store front, its just like changing your cloth everyday. Local consumer still think that the shop is real, because the decoration of the store looks goods and formal, just feel like it is an authorized store. But the changing of the store’s name do made customer confused.

Obviously, the Kunming’s fake Apple store is trying to avoid some trademark infringement with Apple. They want to keep on doing their business for selling Apple products (from unknown distrubution channel), so they must give up using the big white Apple logo, same situation like Zhongshan’s fake Apple store.
