Motorola need to release different version of Droid RAZR with appropriate radio bands for China market. China’s top three mobile carriers, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom all have different 3G network. Early this month, Motorola has releases Razr XT910 for China Unicom, which is using the WCDAM network. Last week, the company introduced Razr MT917 for China Mobile, which run on the proprietary TD-SCDMA network. This second variant of the world’s thinnest Android smartphone, come with a thicker casing in order to contain a more powerful camera and higher resolution screen. Now for the third variant, which called Razr XT928, is using CDMA2000 network from China Telecom and it offers Dolby Digital Plus audio …
The XT928 will be powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, offering 1GB of RAM, an impressive and powerful 13 megapixel rear-facing camera (capable of 1080p HD video capture) and an 1.3 megapixel front facing one, ideal for making video calls or for video chatting. The new handset will features a 4.5-inch touch screen with 1280×720 HD resolution. The display panel is SLCD, not Super AMOLED. The phone is 9.9 millimeters thick, it is the thickest amoung the three different version. (XT910: 7.1mm, MT917: 8.5mm). It features the Android platform, with Gingerbread ahead of all, and will probably get an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in due time.

The Droid Razr has now roll out in China with three specific versions. Motorola appears to be set to do just that in China because of the different 3G networks, but it is also adding some pretty serious spec bumps, like HD resolution screen, 13 megapixel camera and Dolby Digital Plus audio. As far as appearance is concerned, the new Droid Razr XT928 might be the one that looks most different from the original model. The logo printed conspicuously on the top parts exhibits that which carrier its destination. Instead, XT928 looks like Droid X much in the overall style.
Pricing for the XT928 has yet to be announced, but the phone is set to go on sale in mid-December. We still think that the Chinese consumer might get confused on those slightly different specification, and not mentioning about the different types of 3G radio netwrok in China. In the meantime, the XT910 which provided by China Unicom (WCDMA), has most of the elements identical to the original Droid Razr, especailly when talking about “impossibly thin”.
