This Man Made a 10-inch Window 7 Tablet All On His Own

A Chinese boy named WeiXin Long (Long), who self-made a knockoff tablet out of some waste materials as a gift for his girlfriend. Of course, it is far from a wonderful piece but the effort that Long took is appreciating numerous Chinese netizens and sparked their interest.

With Long said, the machine is a 10-incher which has a thickness of 2.5cm (This is really really thick!) and weighs 1 kg, runs Window 7 with Intel Atom N270, 512MB of RAM, 40GB hard disk and Intel GMA950 graphics. It has four USB ports, an external monitor jack, a cable jack, a memory card slot, a headphone jack, built-in wireless and a three-cell lithium battery, giving the device approximately 2 hours of endurance.

Building a tablet is definitely not an easy task, but this great man here took 10 days and used $800 RMB (about $123 USD) to complete assembling. We cannot guarantee it is safe to use as Long is not a pros at electronics. He learned all the skills to make a tablet by browsing around the internet and asking some of his friends.
