My god. The knockoff makers have evolved. Their latest MacBook Air knockoff could surely impress people who would never have bought the real thing. Check out a hands-on video and more photos after the break!
There’s apparently two kinds of MacBook Air knockoff in China now. Both guys feature the EXACT look of Apple’s MacBook Air. The one you see in the video packs a 1.8GHz Intel Atom D525 CPU with GMA 3150 graphics, 13.3-inch 1366×768 LED display, a 32GB Kingspec mSATA SSD (other choices include 64GB, 128GB and 256GB), 2GB of RAM (upgradeable to 4GB), two USB 2.0 ports, a SD card slot, and a HDMI port. It comes with Windows XP and the manufacturer claims it could boot up in 18 seconds. Perhaps the most amazing feature is that it even includes Apple’s magnetic MagSafe connector! That’s the best rip-off we have ever seen!!!
The one you are seeing in the pictures below packs a 1.86GHz Intel Atom N2800 CPU with a GMA3600 integrated GPU, 13.3-inch 1366×768 LED display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB SSD, two USB 2.0 ports, a 3-in-1 card reader, mini-HDMI output and a non-removable 4100mAh battery that gives you up to 3.5 hours of battery life.
So, the MacBook Air knockoff weighs 1.36 kg, that’s merely 0.1 kg more than the real thing! What’s more, it measures 12.76″ (32.4 cm) wide x 8.94″ (22.7 cm) deep x 0.16-0.76″ (0.4-1.94 cm) height, that’s actually only 0.1 cm thicker than the real thing at its thinnest point. Availability? This November. Price? We’re guessing it’ll retail for 3,000 yuan ($472) when it hit the market. The verdict? We’re surprised the knockoff makers actually made it unibody given how most knockoffs use way cheaper manufacturing.
