As we all know, China still has a huge demand on iPhone 4/4S like what we previously reported the iPhone 4S was selling crazy in Hong Kong. Now there is rumor claimed China Unicom to start selling iPhone 4S as soon as the end of the year. More info after the jump.
China Unicom began to sell iPhone 3 back in September in 2009, which means people who bought the iPhone 3 that sticks with the 2-years contract will be end by now, so Unicom probably would urge for the 4S as soon as possible to sustain its customers. At the start of this week, the carrier had lower their iPhone 4 price an effort to clean up its inventory for the iPhone 4S.
According to China Unicom’s insider said, they had already received the phone that they could begin testing. Also, they had allegedly submitted network licence form for iPhone 4S. If everything goes smoothly and true, then China Unicom will be the first provider to sell iPhone 4S in Mainland China. In the meanwhile, China Unicom is planning to launch a low price (less than $1000 RMB) smartphone sometimes before the end of year.
In terms of the other two carriers, China Mobile and China Telecom, both companies still haven’t have contact with Apple about importing iPhone 4S.
