China’s Biggest Apple Store Grand Opening in Shanghai (Video)

Today, China’s largest Apple store officially opens its doors in Shanghai. Previously, we’ve got a sneak peek inside the store, and now there’s a grand opening. 300 Apple employees and over 500 hundred people were there to celebrate the grand opening, and here we have a photo gallery and a video of the unforgettable moment. Enjoy.

Gallery: China’s Biggest Apple Store Grand Opening in Shanghai

In China, you see wealthy Chinese consumers scrambling to get iPads, iPhone 4s and the latest and fastest Macintosh computers. Apple needs to build more and bigger stores to take care of these customers. So, they built it, and this is the fifth and biggest store in China on Shanghai’s busiest shopping street — Nanjing Road. The five-story retail store contains 300 employees to serve 40,000+ Chinese customers each day. Awesome.

Just like always, Apple employees in blue shirts stand behind the doors to get ready to welcome the customers.

They are super excited!!!

Even though there’s no new product to purchase today, nothing could stop the Chinese Apple fanboys to take part in the grand opening.

So excited!!! :P

Getting ready.

Counting down…

Hooray!!!

When the doors opened, everyone is so happy to take a tour inside the store.

We’ve got this free gift from the store. It’s a t-shirt with words written in Shanghai language that means “Hello, Nanjing East Road”.

Is the T-Shirt misspelled? It says: 依好 and not 你好。

    • Chengan Yuan

Miswritten, you mean. No, it doesn’t say 依好, it says 侬(nong)好. It is written in Shanghainese, a dialect of Wu Chinese.

    LMAO…”written in Shanghai language.”

Hahahahaha. When you get a shirt from New York, is it written in New York language?

      @E:
You don’t seem to be aware that Shanghai has its own dialect which is presumably what the reference to “Shanghai language” means.  Perhaps you might want to brush up on it before mocking someone about a topic you aren’t familiar with?

When you get a Tshirt from the Navajo Indians it should be written in that tribe. There are over 700 tribes in china.

Shanghainese is about as similar to Mandarin as German is to English.
