Those Apple stores in China apparently was expecting a wave of Apple fan boys to queue up for the 3G iPad 2, they have already organized many securities guards in black shirt, set up fence stretching 10 meters long, everything is well-prepared. But the fact is, there aren’t many people are coming…

Interesting Story in Beijing Xicheng Apple Store

The launch activity was planned to start at 08:30 in the morning, but due to the unbelievable occasion (no one is there), they had postponed until 08:40. There were actually some scalpers waiting outside the store but all of them decided to sit and watch instead of buying the 3G iPad 2. Obviously because they don’t think the 3G iPad 2 is not going to make money for them. No one wants to buy 3G iPad 2 now, we are going to explain why later on! The story continues…about 15-20 minutes later, there were customers finally entered the store and the Apple store staffs happily greeted them with bright smile, but they came out very quickly and did not make any purchase. Actually, they were looking for an iPhone not an iPad 2 and that Apple store only sells 3G iPad 2 before 10:00. Around 09:00 a.m., the first buyer finally appeared! A man with causal sportswear easily get the first 3G iPad 2 and this is how the first iPad 2 was sold. Probably he is the first person that doesn’t get photographed by journalist. Is he having a happy face like the other “1st customer”?

The story did not end up here. About 09:30, the staffs of Apple store decided to pack up the fence as they saw scalpers also packed up and went home. Meanwhile, several polices arrived and some even used mini-size camcorder to capture the moment outside of the Apple store. They did not come for the 3G iPad 2, but came for the fence that being set up outside of the Apple store, because it is an act of unauthorized occupation of public roads, the company should be fine in accordance with regulations. We are not sure did Apple get a fine or not.
