Macworld is the largest event solely focused on the Apple products market, the event is managed by International Data Group (IDG). As China is currently Asia’s largest consumer electronics market, Macworld is going to launch the first expo that takes place in China dubbed MacWorld Asia, the event will hold in Beijing’s China National Convention Center for three days in between Sep 22 to 25.
Macworld event debut in 1985 in San Francisco, held at the 2nd week of January annually which had endured for 25 years already. The event will bring international giants together, including Apple supply chains and some other leading IT enterprises. Attendees will have access to hundreds of Mac products and services, paired with expert advice, demonstrations, instruction and so forth.
With MacWorld Asia 2011, the organizer chooses to take place in Beijing is obviously because it is the most influential city in China. There are only four Apple stores across China at the moment, Beijing has two of them already. The content of the event will also feature in the same way as it did in the past, but disappointingly, this is the first MacWorld conference that lacks the presence of Steve Jobs due to his recent retirement. The organizers are expecting 200,000 of visitors, which included around 65% of Chinese visitors and over 5,000 of foreigners to attend the event. Such a big flow of visitors surely will stimulate tourism in Beijing, estimated that will bring Beijing with 5 billion yuans of income and creates more than thousands of jobs.
