Exclusive: White iPod touch Hands-on

Oh my god. This is exactly the look we wish to see on Apple’s next iPhone! This white iPod touch we have here looks bad ass, better than the black one. It is so nice that we can’t wait to share it with you guys. Check out our first impressions of this white version of iPod touch, after the break. Cool huh? Ever since the iPod touch came out and tickled my fanciful soul with the amazing price tag, I’ve been considering to get my hands on one and bring it home. But looking at the white iPads and iPhones, I would like a white iPod touch too. Today, it’s finally “real” and oh my god it’s so dreaaamy. How we got this white iPod touch? Well, it’s a long story.

Last week, we spent the holiday weekend in Shenzhen. It was such a fun. We did some shopping around the city, purchasing stuff that we could not find in Hong Kong, and traveled around the city for tasty food. We found a noodle restaurant that is almost fully crowded during lunch-time. It took us 15 minutes to find a seat.

When I sat down, I saw something on the floor. A white iPhone!? I picked it up, took a closer look at it, it’s something different. An iPhone 5? No, it’s not a phone, and looking at the back of the device, it says “iPod”. It has a camera, so it’s the latest iPod touch. But wait, I remember Apple didn’t build a white iPod touch before, only the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 have white versions. Oh man, is this the new iPod touch? Well, definitely not. It’s the same old iPod touch 4G, but it had a surgery to transform into a snowman. Very interesting.

Looks like someone has left this white iPod Touch at the restaurant, and maybe the owner will be back to look for his/her precious gadget. And since we are very interested to ask the owner for more details of this white version of iPod touch, we decided to wait for his/her return. We stay seated for 3 hours, but the owner is nowhere to be seen… So, we decided to bring it back home. That’s how we got this white iPod touch.

Ok, what’s so special with this white iPod touch? Well, it looks gorgeous.

The white home button is actually a gaudy home button sticker. Tearing it off reveals the original black home button. All we can say is the owner is pretty smart to cover the black home button with white button sticker.

This white version of iPod touch feels really great on our hands, it looks like the white iPhone 4, but it’s much thinner. I could imagine the next iPhone would look something like this!

We have an old iPod dock, so we think it would be nice to put this white iPod touch into the white dock.

Of course, it will match the white earphones!

Will Apple build this white iPod touch? That’s the question I’m keep asking myself while I’m using it. They probably will, since white iPhones are selling, as well as white iPads, so why wouldn’t a white iPod touch work? But wait, what if the next iPhone looks like this? I can’t wait to replace my iPhone 4.

p.s. Way back in June, Apple news site 9to5mac posted a rendering of a white iPod touch. Well, the one we have here looks exactly the same as the rendering. Pretty cool.
