The news on a knock-off IKEA store in Kunming has recevied quite a lot of feedback. While the Chinese retailers has already hijack the shopping experience of the swiss’ company, now we take a in-depth look on how those fake IKEA furnitures are made. Strictly speaking, the production factory was well-equipped, with their own grinding department, advanced paintshop and fabric workshop, we believe the quality of those fake furnitures are up to some standard. The price of these fake IKEA furnitures are not cheap compare to the real one. Meanwhile, IKEA has 9 stores in China, which located mainly at first and second-tier cities. IKEA might need to reconsider their marketing strategy to compete with those knock-off retailers which hiding at other smaller cities of China.
