China Cloned the Asus Eee Keyboard

Asus Eee Keyboard
Asus introduced the Eee Keyboard which wowed us at CES 2009, it’s a “fully functional PC” with full QWERTY and a mini secondary touchscreen. In China, a machine named “Cross PC U510″ is launched, which took the design and features of the Eee keyboard. To our surprise, it’s running with Nvidia ION platform. This is what we want for a knock-off.

This machine is introduced in Shenzhen at first. Cross PC U510 uses a 1.6GHz Atom CPU with Nvidia Ion platform, equipped with a 2GB RAM, 250GB SATA hard drive and Wi-Fi connectivity.

A 5-inch touchscreen is embedded on the surface, it supports handwriting recognition but not multi-touch. It’s awesome to use it with just your fingers.

Although its appearance doesn’t look better than the Asus Eee Keyboard, but it has strong graphics performance for you to watch HD movies without any problems.

The product is still in early stage, since it requires power supply for power on, and doesn’t support dual-screen when connecting to a HDTV. Overall, the product is very good, featuring strong graphics performance and great portability. You can bring it home for your boys to play around with it for 3888 RMB ($570).

One more thing, it doesn’t have the wireless HDMI function just like the Eee Keyboard.
