China Unicom Is Finally Offering The PlayStation Phone

It is kind of weird that the XPERIA Play has not made its official China debut on any Chinese mobile networks yet. Today, it looks like Sony Ericsson is finally looking to expand their reach by offering the phone on China Unicom, the world’s third-biggest mobile provider.

This may be good news for any Chinese mobile phone users who considered purchasing the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play in mainland China. So how much would China Unicom charge for it? Well, customers could choose a $0 up-front deal, on plans priced from 286 yuan (about $44) a month, that’s 100 yuan (about $15) cheaper than iPhone 4! The amount of data you can use for the 286 yuan plan is 1.6GB, any data usage above that limit will incur overage charges (0.0003 yuan/KB) that have the potential to double your monthly data fees for the phone. Customers could also choose to purchase just the phone, and that will cost you 4580 yuan ($708). Umm… almost the same price as iPhone 4… Anyone here in China getting it?
