Apple “Accidentally” Leaks Thunderbolt LED Display

So readers, it seems Apple has made a mistake on their website again! We noticed on their website yesterday morning that they had new Apple Displays. However, all the images shown above have been removed from Apple’s website today.

You will remember that our sources indicated that the Mac Pro would not be updated due to issues and that we accurately predicted activity around the Mac mini line, as well as the Macbook Air. However it seems our sources were getting conflicting information about a white Macbook update. Here’s what we learned during our investigation today.

The images of the not-yet-released Thunderbolt-enabled LED Cinema Display appeared on Apple’s site yesterday, and Apple identified the new cinema display in the URL as the “MC914″ part, that had been previously thought to be a new white MacBook. Here’s the product number:

MC914LL/A – J59, BEST – USA

It likely means that the product number is mixed up, as it is not the white Macbook as is previously thought. This product number now represents the new cinema display.

The leak also shows pictures of the Mac mini which currently does not have a Thunderbolt port and the Mac Pro, which as per another one of our stories is having issues with temperature. It also shows an iMac hooked up to it, which currently has a Thunderbolt port. And we have photos of it being hooked up and daisy chained to a Macbook Pro, this is most likely to take advantage of the “Full Screen” feature set of Lion.

And the iMac seems to have the Lion background now.

Our sources indicate everything should be happening next week. We will keep you updated.
