We have received an update about our previous story we posted a day ago. The new wave of Mac products has been delayed due to technical issues. More info after the jump.
We previously posted that the new Apple OSX will be released on the 14th. We were disappointed to see this would not be the case. We have done an investigation into why and here is what we know.
Apple IS&T (information systems and technology) has had several issues with the App store servers. They were taken down on the 13th of July for maintenance. People familiar with the matter state that it was to update the App store with the Lion image, and put additional servers to help with the load of the downloads. However all is not well and there have been significant difficulties getting everything to work right.

Next Thursday is the day Apple has set for its next release target. We hope nothing goes wrong this time!
Also of note there are new details to the Macbook Air, according to AppleInsider.
We have asked our industry contacts and they have confirmed that the standard non integrated SSD will be the norm. Although it was successfully proven in prototyping, it was deemed costly despite the battery life gains, and huge performance difference. This is because it would mean that if the SSD had issues, then a whole logic board replacement would be required. That costs almost as much as a whole computer as the CPU and RAM are already integrated. Also 75%+ of all ordered units were of the 128gb and 256gb sizes so Apple is supposedly not including this, and adding 4GB of RAM so Lion runs better.
One other piece of exciting news, we predicted that the release of Lion and the new hardware would be relatively close. We have information, which is now confirmed by secondary sources. According to MyGag.hk, new units are being shipped out under close guard. Here’s what the blog said in a statement,
Security officers escorted 10 shipping containers from the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen Futian district to the airport.
Well, a minor delay is not affecting our excitement on the new wave of Mac products!
