We don’t think so. While Apple fanboys in Hong Kong are looking out for the launch date of iPad 2 in the city, there’s an ad on the web giving them a clue, yeah, at least an exact date, April 15. However, the ad does not mention anything about Apple, or iPad 2. It just shows some Hong Kong celebrities using their fingers to touch, flick, and pinch the air. Pretty creative, one more video after the break.
Actually, these two ads appeared on the Apple Daily website on Monday. Apple Daily (蘋果日報) is a Hong-Kong-based newspaper and it is published by its company, Next Media, the great animated news production team we love. Since Apple does not have the habit to promote its new product in the city like other electronic brands, we do not think these ads are from Apple. So what’s the ad promoting about? Well, Apple Daily recently released their app for the iPad and they would probably promote the app with these ads. So, for those people in Hong Kong including the grey market dealers and scalpers, please give some patience and wait for Apple’s official announcement on the Hong Kong launch date. Apple will definitely let Hong Kong get the iPad 2 in April.
