Slimmer LePad 2 Expects To Arrive In September Or October

Lepad

Chinese PC maker Lenovo finally launched the delayed Lepad in China, and surprisingly, Lenovo CEO also revealed some details about the Lepad 2 during last night’s opening banquet for the 2011 Chinese IT Leadership Summit.

Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said, “the next-gen lepad will be slimmer and expect to launch in September or October.” Merely, it takes the company three to four months after Lepad global launch in June. Yang added that the next LePad was developed in parallel with its predecessor under a separate team, allowing it to come to fruition in just nine months.

At the moment, Lepad has four versions to choose from, including 16GB WiFi, 32GB WiFi, 16GB 3G and 32GB 3G. The price line starts from $3499 RMB ($538 USD) up to $5299 ($815 USD), comes in black, white and red.

Here is the price:

16GB WiFi – $3499 ($538 USD)
32GB WiFi – $3999 ($615)
16GB 3G – $4599 ($708)
32GB 3G – $5299 ($815 USD)

The tablet has a newer 1.3GHz Snapdragon and an 1.2GHz Intel Core i5-540UM in the external body, with an optional i7 available. It brings us a 10.1-inch 1280×800 capacitive multi-touch display, runs Android 2.2 or either switching it to Window 7 by joining the external body to the tablet.

Certainly, it will make people hesitate of whether to wait for the global launch in June or to wait for Lepad 2 in Sep or Oct instead?
