Review Roundup: World Joyland, The Anime-Themed Park (Videos)
Yesterday was the first day of World Joyland formally operated, which attracted crowds of people to this park. It is the first anime-themed park ever! As if a roundup of worldwide themed-park, gathers all the popular and classic anime and heroes. World Joyland is aiming to become a new landmark of China’s tourism, and dreaming to become a real version of web cultural Disney Legend in the 21st century. Full review after the break.
World Joyland’s Opening Ceremony
World Joyland Creates A New World Record
Congratulation to World Joyland that they had broke the world record of the cosplay gathering number. The Guinness book of record is 1016 of people, and World Joyland achieved 1530 of people.
Background
World Joyland began construction on the May in 2009, it covered 600 thousands square meters and invested over 20 billion in this project. The opening ceremony was held on the 29th of April, and officially opened on the 1st of May. At the moment, there were already 1 million of tickets sold out, and over 60 kinds of anime-themed projects are available.
On May 1 (Public Holiday in China), World Joyland had over 20.5 thousands tourists arrived the park, and the park had inability to serve that many visitors. Ultimately, the official suggested tourists through nine of the Changzhou’s media to come in another day.
Transportation
Frankly, the public transport in China is extremely crowd and messy. Therefore, the best way that we would prefer is to catch a taxi and tell the taxi driver that you want to go to World Joyland (环球动漫嬉戏谷). Or either go and catch World Joyland’s shuttle bus at Changzhou railway station or at Wuxi railway Station. You can get to those stations from Shanghai.
Opening Hours and Ticket Price
World Joyland opens at 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Ticket price is $180 RMB (around $28 USD) during May 1 – Sep 30. There is no pre-order for ticket sales, only-pre-purchase is available. Pleasingly, the ticket price included most of the fees within the park, which means no additional cost for games and activities inside the park, except for restaurants and shops. Additionally, walk-in tickets are only available until 3.30 p.m. So caution not to arrive at World Joyland after this time if you don’t have a ticket with you.

Taobao Street
Once you pass through this 25.99 meters “Gate of Heros”, the first thing you would see is “Taobao Street”.
“Taobao street” as if Japan’s “Akihabara”, it has a length of 150 meters, which gathers all popular anime brands and characters from around the world, including Mickey Mouse, Spongebob, Winnie The Pooh, Cinderella and so forth. Of course, the most worst thing in China is too much clones. However, we are glad to hear the official promised everything they sell to tourist are not knock-off, and they are aiming to turn World Joyland becomes China’s most famous anime derivatives one-stop shopping destination. Fairy Lake
Some of the performances will be held in the center of Fairy Lake, including music fountain, water parade and some other special events.
Nearby the Fairy Lake, there is a Mysterious Island. It is the smallest region in World Joyland which covered only 33,000 square meters. Gathers all the ancient fairy characters, is a very unique and elegant place that gives endless of imagination to visitors and for writing the immortal romance.

World of Warcraft
When you turn left at the end of Taobao street, you will arrive “World of Warcraft” region (also named Terrain Of Magic), a place covered around 49000 square meters. This area is designed to be magical and gloomy, which in order to provide an exciting atmosphere of pleasure, allowing tourists to experience the feel of adventure and thrilling. In the meantime, to encourage people to try and challenge themselves. There are games like raging river, steamwheedle port (like an artificial beach), World of Warcraft pavilion, World of Warcraft themed restaurant…

Universe Of Starcraft
After the mainland of World of Warcraft, you will soon to meet the largest region in World Joyland. And, that is the Universe of Starcraft, covered 62000 square meters and located on the south east of Fairy Lake. This area obviously is interpreting the scene of future and the video game Starcraft, revealing an atmosphere of harmony and holy. This area included exciting adventures like “Flying Jurassic”, “Tear the sky”, “Dome Theater”, “Terminator Ⅳ”, “Virtual Roller Coaster”, “Dynamic Cabin”, “Anger Of Raytheon”…
This is called “Anger Of Raytheon”, not sure how tall that is though. Video below.
Guys in the video keep saying “This is horrible! Ah..Ah…Ah..” in Chinese, but surely they are having lots of funs.
Temple Mount
Probably you would start to feel your throat is getting tired after shouting and screaming uncontrollably in the previous two regions. And now is the time for you to have a bit of rest. Eventually, you will get to the landmark of World Joyland, which so called the “”Chunghwa Dragon Tower”. It is the tallest building in the park located on the south of Fairy Lake, which has a magnificent overlooking of the entire park and it would be lovely to have a cup of tea and some foods next to you. This part of the park will become the carrier of the history and the culture of past animation and game culture, contains a profound cultural connotation, towards a global digital entertainment pilgrims assembly, implies the spirit of challenge, unity and freedom.

Legend Of The World
Of course, that’s not it, World Joyland has more to go! The next part is the “Legend of the World”, this area is slightly smaller than “Universe of Starcraft” which covered around 61000 square meters, consists of classic and legend heroes and reveals ancient weathering of Chinese and Western. Many challenging games are available in this field, which includes “Virtual Gallery”, “Real CS Battle”,” Magic Theatre”, “Ring Roller Coaster, “”Mine Car “, “Cannibal Tribe” and some other world’s top rides.
Moore Park
Finally, Moore Park, the last part of World Joyland, located on the right side of Taobao Street, and toward the terminal of this journey. It is a children recreation paradise, full of fairy tale. The place is very lovely and colorful, as if a innocent little world for kids to begin their dream of the manor mystery adventure. Facilities include “Children’s 4D Theater”, “Pet Theatre”, “Moore Restaurant”, “Foggy Bridge”, “Crystal Ball Derivatives Shop”, “Magic steam” , “three-dimensional cartoon sculptures”…In fact, you can start from this region and finish at “World of Warcraft” region.
3D Theater
Outside of the amusement park, there are two buildings that you should notice, and one of them is the “Great Theater”, considered as part of World Joyland. It has the first indoor 3D stereo panorama, viewed in a spectacular 270 ° 3D LED screens within the hall.
International Anime-and-Game Expo Pavilion
The other building is outside of World Joyland is its International Anime-and Game Expo Pavilion. It is a multi-functional hall that holds events such as domestic and foreign exhibition, industry forum, cultural copyright trading and animation industry awards ceremony to hold Cosplay performance to satisfy tourists and visitors.
National E-Sports Competition Center
The place is authorized by the State Sports General Administration as “National E-sports Competition Center”, will hold CCJOY China’s college students Electronic Sports League, IEF, WCG and other international and domestic types of large-scale e-Sports event.
