Being a geek, you must not only know Apple headquarters and Foxconn factory, but you must check out the most popular Chinese electronics manufacturer Meizu, who created the most remarkable iPhone wannabe and got sued by Apple. They have an enormous factory and seems to have better working conditions than Foxconn. Really?
Surprisingly, Meizu’s factory looks pretty good and it’s not a sweatshop like Foxconn. Meizu offers their workers practically free food, transportation and sports facilities. What’s more, Meizu provides a free shuttle bus service that go into downtown for workers to head home or out.

The workshop. This is the place where Meizu M8 and M9 handsets are assembled.

The food. There’s a wide range of choices: roast duck, steamed egg, stir fried pork, stir fried beef, two soups, etc. And they are very affordable, just ¥3 ($0.46) to ¥5 ($0.76) per dish.

The canteen. Everyone is enjoying good food.

Here’s what we think. There’s never been a better time to work in Meizu. And we are asking, what’s Foxconn doing now? Still being a hell factory? Workers still heading to destress room? What do you think?
