RIM Demands Blackberry Playbook To Produce In Taiwan

RIM Co-Ceo

According to a market research, iSuppli indicated the growth rate of Shanzhai products last year were up to 43.6%, about 228 millions units. And the Shanzhai products have possessed over 20% of the worldwide electronic market. Allegedly, RIM demands Blackberry Playbook to produce in Taiwan in order to prevent assembly manufacturers in mainland China replicated their product. Should Apple do the same thing to avoid leakage?

Furthermore, China’s Industry and Information Technology has already started to crackdown some Shanzhai manufacturers from last month. The possible way for Shanzhai makers to survive in the market is to turn its business into own brand, an industry insider claimed. Such as Huawei, it used to be a Shanzhai brand but it had successfully turned itself into a international brand.
