Apple Response On Accusation Against Chinese Workers’ Condition

The video above is called “The other side of Apple”, produced by IPE which marked the positive side and negative side of Apple during last year. On Thursday, the Chinese environmental groups called out Apple for allegedly failing to properly oversee suppliers, accusing the iPhone maker of fostering health and safety problems in factories. And, here is the respond from Apple.

According to Apple spokeswoman Carolyn Wu quoted in Macworld, “Apple is committed to ensuring the highest standards of social responsibility throughout our supply base.” The company requires all suppliers to make an agreement to Apple’s code of conduct before the contracts are made.

Apple has taken a step to make sure all suppliers comply with policies, in which monitored through factory audits and measures to correct violations. However, Apple didn’t directly comment on the report, called Supplier Report, which had the backing of 36 environmental groups from China.
